For those of you that enjoy the cinematic aspect of BF3, DICE enabled a console command a few weeks back, called ui.EnableDraw that allows you to turn off the HUD completely. To do this, simply hit the tilda (the key right above tab) and type in : ui.enabledraw false. That's it, HUD goes away. However, this disables all overlays, including the exit screen, as well as the HUD in the vehicles. So I would only recommend it for infantry players who want to enjoy the beauty that is BF3. To turn it back on, simply open the console again, and type : ui.enabledraw true.
