If it has the usual small run and gun maps, pass. Lipstick on a pig. Smile

Now, the Multiplayer Beta is coming to PC as an Open Beta for all PC gamers.

Together with Raven Software, we’re excited to share that the Call of Duty: WWII Open Multiplayer Beta on PC will kick off on September 29th and run through October 2nd on Steam.

The PC Open Beta is just a small part of the full Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer experience coming to Steam in November. This test is a critical step on our road to delivering the best possible online experience on Steam at launch in November, with the following key goals:

Stress test core gameplay systems and online backend infrastructure at scale
Provide PC fans with their first hands-on experience of the boots-on-the-ground combat coming in Call of Duty: WWII Multiplayer
Engage with the PC community to fine-tune and optimize the PC experience for November
Here are the minimum PC specs you’ll need to play in the Beta test. Please note that these specs are for the Beta only. In our next update, we’ll share the recommended PC specs for the Beta, since we’re finalizing this part of our testing as we speak.

Min Spec:
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
CPU: Intel® Core™ i3 3225 or equivalent
RAM: 8 GB RAM
HDD: 25 GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 @ 2 GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 @ 2GB or better
DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
Network: Broadband Internet connection
Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

OK, nothing about dedicated servers. NO - you do not have to pre-order this title in order to play in the PC beta.

This game is a watch and see.

SEPT 29 - you can pre-load thru Steam today - the 26th - only need 25 gb

go to steampowered.com for the download. If you have to log-in at this site, you'll get an emailed code to enter before you can proceed. I haven't found a way to download the game from within Steam itself - yet.

ok, in Steam, click STORE text on middle right. On that page, upper right search field, type in Call of Duty WW2. From that page, look down center, for Call of Duty WW2 PC Open Beta - that's the downloadable link.

this news is for the OPEN BETA only - note that this beta will not support multiple monitors.

Activision has just announced that the PC open MP beta for Call of Duty: WWII is now available for pre-load. In addition, the publisher revealed the features that will be supported in it. According to Activision, the PC open beta of Call of Duty: WWII will support native 4K resolutions, framerates up to 250fps, as well as controllers, G-Sync monitors, Ultra-Wide monitors and high-resolution mouse. Moreover, the PC open beta build for Call of Duty: WWII will feature a FOV option, fully re-mappable keyboard/mouse, and advanced video settings. And while aim assist will be supported in the final version, this feature has been completely disabled for the open beta. While the PC open beta will not support multi-monitors, the final version of the game will. Furthermore, the development team is working to support HDR at launch. Last but not least, Activision has revealed the full PC requirements for Call of Duty: WWII’s open beta.

Minimum Requirements:

OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later

RAM: 8 GB RAM

Played for 20 min. (I know not very long) maps are tiny! It looks beautiful but it's the same twitch shooter it always was with new skins.

from ars technica -

WWII's multiplayer is, as it was in earlier Call of Duty games, all about microsecond-to-microsecond reflexes and small upgrades over time. It's about knowing general player behavior and any given map so well that you know someone's coming around a corner a quarter-second before they know you're waiting for them. It's barebones and twitchy in a way that’s just not interesting.

Stripped-down multiplayer doesn't give many tactical options besides "get better."

there it is - that is the nut of COD the last 7 years since it went without dedi servers - COD AW2.

and from PC Gamer -

WWII’s competitive multiplayer benefits most from the return to a simpler setting, focusing on map awareness and reaction time. With the removal of jetpacks and wall-running, it’s difficult to dance your way out of a bad decision. If you’re not paying attention to enemy positions on your radar, bouncing between loadouts to counter enemy team compositions, or can’t point and click on a moving smudge of brown from 50 yards off within a second, then Call of Duty: WWII can be a rough time. I love that maps are crowded and force frequent tests of these skills. Designed around three lanes tangled with flanking routes and sniper perches, death comes from everywhere, all the time.

If that is you, go for it. But you'd better stock up on your caffeine and uppers if you wanna try this title.

perfect example of COD DNA - small maps, footwork, blast from behind - notice the date on 1st video - June 2017 - must have been a console alpha
