Cool ! another way to make Battlelog redeem its self
You can now change out your ingame loadouts from the Battlelog profile menu
Click on your text NAME to get to your profile, and you'll see Loadout on the menu up top to the right.
Loadout has come to Battlelog
By: trydling Posted: 08.09.12
Dear everyone.
In our efforts to keep improving Battlelog, we bring you the latest little thing we´ve been working on for some time.
Now you can finally adjust your loadouts on Battlelog for all classes (Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon). Once you have picked your weapon, sidearm, gadgets and camo, you can instantly jump in to the game and start your game with the loadout you picked in Battlelog. You can find this new feature in the menu row on your profile page.
Another thing that is quite cool about the loadout is that you can easily go into your friends´ profile page, go to his/her loadout tab and copy their loadouts to make them your own.
Of course, this isn´t only restricted to just one platform but is integrated to work with PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Battlelog developer Indigownd has been one of the creative minds behind this feature and in his own words here is why loadout is a great addition to Battlelog:
If you find yourself getting owned repeatedly by an enemy, you can now go to his profile on Battlelog and check what equipment he/she uses — and copy it to your loadout with a simple click.
Coming from a competitive gaming background, I know what it means to play on unranked servers where available unlocks are decided by the server admin. So if you plan on playing on an unranked server you’ll still be able to set weapons and equipment you normally wouldn’t have access to on a ranked server.
The Loadout feature went live this morning, so feel free to start using it. Of course, if you have any feedback, let us know by using our forums.

FYI you don't need to click your text name... Just click on the briefcase in the row bellow your experience bar.
BTW Stufz I use SnagIt to grab my screen captures and then modify it (like adding the arrow you see above)...
I could send you the version I have, it's "portable" meaning no need to install. It works great even if it's not the latest version... |

Yah, I caught that in the email, but the question is - does making any changes in Battlelog to your loadouts, save for when you get into game ? |

I can't be a 100% sure but I think it did for me yesterday...
Although there could be a delay between your mods on battlelog and the time it is available to your game...
Could it be that it uses the cloud too? |

I'm sure that it is being cloud synced, I'm sure that's why we haven't seen this feature until they could release the update that intros the cloud and sync, but I have tested twice today at different times, and not a thing changes in the loadout.
Per the link in 2nd post, there's a lot of others not getting any saved changes to work. Have yet to see any post that it does work.
Matter of fact, google up "bf3 loadount menu working" or drop the working, you won't find a single instance where someone posts that the loadout menu works in game. |

Like I said I'm not 100% sure...
All I really changed is the camo colours. |

And that again ... the camo is reverting to default for everyone. If you can't say 'for sure' that you've experienced a successful saving of a loadout change in Battlelog, then ..... what ???
The real problem is DICE releasing yet another non-working feature that sounds cool in concept, but really, apart from the OCD types who will spend their working/non-gaming hours dawdling over their & others' all-in-one-place loadouts, what is it that you can accomplish with such a feature - if it worked - that you cannot do more readily in game, reacting to "real time gaming" events ?
I mean, they've got our monies, they'll never release any in game voip, battle recorder, or even end of round/game chat - very useful features - and DIce has said NO to these features repeatedly.
So, take the time, change something in your loadout in Battlelog and check on server if the change is saved. Note the specific loadout before change and after change in game, and post back your finding, please, mon frere. |

Ok - I just tested a camo change - it was the Default camo - which is not what I last used on the Assault class last nite - that's the bug that resets your camo choice to default every time - and I changed it to Navy Blue - and when I got on server and selected the Assault class, camo was, again, Default. |

Ok then.
Took you at your words and actually had my battlelog on one screen and the game on the other...
The load-out feature DOES work, but not 100%
For all 4 classes I was able to change the main weapon, the side arm, the 2 gadgets slots.
Also for the main weapon I was able to change the accessories.
What doesn't work is changing the Specialization and the camo.
If yours doesn't work at all you should check and see if you use cloud in Origin to store your game's settings...
Either that or Dice/EA made some last minute changes which I'm not aware of.
For those who don't know, to check your cloud storage status log on to Origin, then hover you mouse over BF3, a bubble will appear, then click on the grey square with the letter I on it. This brings your BF3 information page, navigate to the Cloud Storage tab.
You'll see if cloud is enabled and how much cloud space you are currently using.
-=-=-= Edit =-=-=-
Oh BTW didn't say above but I changed the load-out before loading the game...
While in game nothing changes. |

Good work ... i think I didn't know how to check cloud storage, thanks ! ... by default its enabled, as I see its progress bar syncing when I start up Origin. I'm using 1mb of 100 available.
as to your BTW statement, are you saying prior to the BTW part, that you were able to change the loadout in Battlelog ?
I can do that, but it won't save any item changed for when I get onto a server. I'm confused by your BTW statement ....
I noticed today in Battlelog that my Assault camo was showing as Spec Ops Black, which is what I last used, so that's the first time that I've noticed that Battlelog loadouts are seeing my in game changes. But I turned it to Urban and joined a server, and it was back to Default camo, which is a bug about the Default camo that has been noted for some time.
So the test for me is not whether I can change a loadout item in Battlelog, its whether that change will save and show up in game. For me, the save for the game has not worked at all.

I take thisas simply meaning that without opening Origin, you surfed to Battlelog, logged in, and effected changes in your loadout. Which did not save these changes for in game.
Far as I can tell, being logged into Battlelog without being logged into Origin makes no difference - either way, the loadout changes are not showing up in game. I've been opening Origin then editing loadouts in Battlelog. |

Let me clarify...
I guess I wasn't clear in my BTW statement.
Here's a chronological description of what I did.
First I made changes in battelog before launching Origin.
Then I logged on our Denver server and the changes I made in Battlelog were showing in game.
I exited the game but kept Origin running and affected another load-out change in battlelog and connected to our LA server this time and that time too the changes were affected in-game.
But when I make changes in Battlelog while I'm in game then the changes don't synchronize with the game.
Last sentence above was my reason for a BTW statement.
As stated in my previous post though the specialization doesn't change. Camo doesn't either but is it because of the bug or because it's not sent to the cloud as with the specialization? I don't know and have no way to find out. |

Hmm, well Ok, so it DOES work without loading Origin first ... for you !
I'll have to try it a few more times that a way, good job ! Thanks for the dialogue |

Whew!! I'm glad we got that settled.
BTW let me clarify.......Whew! and that's.... for you!!!
I had more comments but the Cammo was set to black font and you can't see it on this background, then I exited without syncing to my cloud and lost it all when I opened Origins to write this reply.
I would take you back in chronological order of what I did but I'm just being a smart arse.... |
