Not really, with BF3's extra $50 you get up to 12 extra maps(4 maps per 3 new mappacks),maybe 6 new weapons per mappack or more & a bunch of new vehicles coming in the next 2 packs.
In MOH $70 gets you the game,no support cause they will drop it soon after release, like the last one.No new content ever.A more bland experience, like the last one.At most MOH is worth $49.99............................
Yeah $110 was alot for BF3,but at least we will have something to show for it. |

WRONG............ you get the distinction of having wussed out at the time of the release of the COD-like CQ map pak.
Having gone from almost-certain PEASANT status to PREMIUM DICK status.
And its 4 maps X 4 packs that you've bought into, though the hard proof has yet to be shown.
Close Quarters - 10 new weapons - June
Armored Kill - new tanks, atvs, and mobile artillery - September
Aftermath - December
End Game - March
Double XP periods for Premium members only - monthly starting in June thru March - [July also included non-premium]
Soldier Upgrades - June - July - Oct - Nov - Jan - Feb - Unique Personalization
Bonus Content - June - August - November - February |

Ahem. The 81st copyrighted "Premium Dick!" as our status messages the day Premium became available.
I will pile on the Premium hate wagon though.
1. It let EA know they can get $4,000,000 for promises and little to no content. This will obviously be explored in the future again and again.
2. Nothing is known about the last two DLCs. They may be for CoOp. Aftermath is said to take place after the Earthquake in Tehran. Sounds like a single player extension to me. Close Quarters for infantry, Armored Kill for BF vets. The next two DLCs would have to be infantry/vehicle split to keep the balance.
3. The Close Quarters guns, while the stats look OK, were/are not balanced. This is the same as the Famas was with the release of B2K only almost everyone had that so the balance was there. Here Premiums got the one shot kill AUG+Smoke nade two weeks earlier than anyone who wanted to pay for CQ. The LA86 that I used had hardly any recoil.
4. All the talk about balanced servers, no modding to keep players level, and all of that was the word of Battlefield. Now Premiums get extra double XP events to "boost" themselves while others cannot evenly keep up.
Meh, there's more, but I'm tired of typing. |

Yah, much appreciated, shake. The LA server - which is NOT an official - watever that is - TBD server - its paid for by 2 Califunny members, and was the instant brain-fart of 1 guy whose internet connection is by Sprint wi-fi. Kid you not.
Anyways, this aint letting any cat out of the bag, but that server has been set up with the 'old' maps in CQL mode.
And our guys have been gravitating to it lately, even tho its another 1000 miles away from our 'official' TBD 32 slot Denver server, that is running TDM old and CQ maps before bumping upto old maps in CQL mode, which hasn't bumped in over a week.
So ... I asked the question, and then changed the Denver server to 'old' maps in CQL mode only. It would appear that we have gotten over our "play CQ maps" mind set. But habits are hard to over come, so we'll see ... soon enuf. |

Just to clarify.......I am not in favor of this "Premium" crap.Even though we ALL bought into it.............
I am not "supporting" a $70 game either.Especially MOH..............you know they will drop support for it just after release, again.
You can bet EA WILL do shit like this again with a greedy vengence............... |

Just kidding Stufferz. Actually about 5 of us eagles did change our status to that and left it as a point for our disgust.
I think the joke will be on the Premium purchasers who do act like fools and are being arrogant. The timetable shows no more support after March 2013. Two more DLCs. Maybe 2 more patches after each DLC release for "balance" and that's it. MOH: Warfighter will be the new baby for 2013 with DICE to focus on BF4 for 2014. And the COD model will be complete with two developers alternating between 2 years. Just this time with different titles too.
Since Ravaged Beta came out we have only touched our BF3 server once. Premium killed the game for us. Two guys bought it and we never see them on now. We noticed too many inconsistencies with Premium players versus us "peasants". It just isn't worth the hassle. I have hopes for Armored Kill, but I see nothing more than a glorified Operation Firestorm X 4.
At the risk of going off topic, I got some of the older guys in our clan to check out L4D2. They love it so far. Also Serious Sam 3. CoOp is becoming a lot more fun when it is just your buds and no kids or hackers aggravating. No rules to enforce. Nothing but fun. Sigh. The Steam sale has us playing other stuff right now. I didn't even hear a peep about BF3 tonight. We will have to see what happens after the sale and the dust settles on all these new purchases.
Oh, and the original ad was for the MOH: Warfighter Deluxe Edition at $69.99. The Limited Edition version is still the new standard $59.99 for PC. |

Lol, no harm no foul.. Shake. Yah, I remember reading the trademarked phrase, thot it had a flash sound to it.
L4D2 servers - rented - are kinda pricey, but worth it - $2 a slot, and 8 slots, is the common price. I managed to grandfather my 2 servers thru XFactor, so the $9.90 and $5.94 pricing has stuck after Fragnet bought/took over/rescured XF.
Wait till you try the custom maps. That and the mods are the reason I hold onto the LrD2 servers. Without that, I'd prolly get out of Dodge-ball altogether, admin-ing anyways.
I just got the email hitting on me to pre-order the MoH title and I can be a BF4 beta boi too !
I've had it with this increased revenue - reduced game crap. And I can't believe that DICE/EA didn't catch onto this sooner, after seeing how Activision chomped up the sheeples with their last 3 titles. And what does one get with the digital edition ?
A bronzed buttplug ? :p |

Yup. I got my sheepable email for MOH: Warfighter with the BF4 "exclusive" beta as well.
Check out the reddit post posted at FPSAdmin. This line in particular made me chuckle: "We will continue to support BF3. DICE and EA are dedicated to continuing our support for Battlefield 3. Just as we've continued to support and maintain Bad Company 2, we intend to continue providing the best Battlefield 3 experience we can well into the future and past the release of End Game and Battlefield 4." So what was the last bit of maintenance done to BC2? So by continue "like" BC2 we can expect no more support.
We (the 81st) also are dabbling around with Serious Sam 3 CoOp. That is a fully moddable game with destructible environments. It is more arcade than the war games we play though. However it is really fun.
Just think if we could have modded BF3 or even BC2 for that matter. Those games would be going so much stronger right now. |
